DART 2022 at Villafranca di Verona Airbase

From 22 to 30 September 2022, after a 2,5-year-covid-caused-break, EATC is organizing another edition of the “Disabled Aircraft Recovery Training” (DART). This year, DART is hosted by the 3rd Wing of the Italian Air Force in Villafranca di Verona (ITA).

Six EATC member nations (BEL, DEU, ESP, FRA, ITA, NLD) and two partner nations (GBR, LTU) are participating in this 2022 edition.

DART 2022 is providing training on four types of aircraft spread over four work-stations: three fixed wing (AMX, G222 and Tornado) and one rotary wing (HH212). These are all decommissioned aircraft offered by the Italian Air Force for training purposes.

Moreover, EATC is offering for the first time the  “Disabled Aircraft Recovery Officer” (DARO) training in a new setting: a theoretical part with study material and test in an e-learning environment. The e-learning tool is developed in-house by EATC.

This year’s edition was once again a great opportunity for the nations to train aircraft recovery in a multinational environment. Furthermore, DARO is reinforcing these corporative efforts.

The next DART is planned to take place in June 2023 in Germany.
