EATC assigned aircraft heading towards Dakar

A German Airbus A310 from Special Air Mission Wing (MoD), which was under the Operational Control (OPCON) of the EATC, today transported 20 German soldiers from Cologne to Dakar, Senegal.
The soldiers from Air Transport Wings 61 (Penzing, Bavaria) and ATW 63 (Hohn, Northern Germany) will reinforce the German logistical hub that will be established at Dakar International Airport to support the African-led International Support Mission in Mali (AFISMA).
Up to 75 German soldiers will be based at Dakar to ensure operation and handling of currently two German C-160, which are not more under EATC OPCON. A third German C-160 is meanwhile on its way to assist on the spot.
